chris bosh, miami heat
2010-11 nba regular season
on the eve of chris’ return to toronto, we take a comparison look at his statistical production and what it all means…
the fact that chris’ stats in every category this season are pretty much on par with every one of his past seasons (except his rookie year) tell us one of two things:
1. he is and could continue to be a franchise player, but previously did not have the “right” teammates around to support him, as his consistent production represents
2. he is not a franchise player, but a role player, as his production is relatively unaffected even though he is playing alongside two all-stars
our thoughts? overall and statistically, chris bosh is a good player, not a great player. he does not have that other gear when it’s on the line. he needs a supporting cast - not to boost his stats, but to win. and while the raptors didn’t want to admit this, he was never a bonafide franchise player and his role and contribution in miami showcases that each and every night.
